Why this exists.
Lanalyste is a bilingual platform for business analysts, built around a single conviction: that being ready for a certification should be a state you can measure, not a feeling you talk yourself into. Today that takes the form of an exam simulator for the CBAP® certification, with further certifications and tools for the profession to follow.
01The problem
It began with a gap, not an idea.
Preparing for a business analysis certification is not hard to research. Study guides, question banks, course outlines and reading lists are abundant, and most of them cover the same material to a similar standard. What is scarce is the thing preparation is actually for: a way to practise judgment under the conditions the exam creates, and an honest reading of whether that judgment is ready.
So candidates assemble something out of whatever they can find, and then guess. They read the guide again, highlight more of it, and postpone booking the date — because nothing in front of them answers the only question that matters. Am I ready? The honest answer, for most of them, is that they do not know, and neither does anything they are studying with.
02Why the simulator exists
Make readiness something you can see.
Lanalyste started as an attempt to answer that question with evidence instead of encouragement. The purpose is narrow on purpose: turn preparation from an accumulation of study hours into a measurable state. Practice that behaves like the exam rather than like a glossary. Performance broken down where the breakdown is actually useful. Progress legible enough to act on — to know what to work on next, and to know when to stop preparing and book the date.
That discipline does not expire the day the result arrives. The judgment a certification measures is the same judgment the job runs on, which is why the platform is being built around the analyst rather than around one exam.
03The approach
Four commitments.
These are the decisions that shape the product, and the ones worth being held to.
01
Evidence over reassurance
A preparation tool that only encourages is not telling the truth. Results are reported as they are, including where performance is weak, because that is the part that changes the outcome.
02
Judgment over recall
Certification in business analysis tests decisions taken in context. Practice built on definitions produces candidates who know the vocabulary and stall on the question.
03
Say what is built, and what is not
The platform is under development, and the site marks the line on every page that touches it. Nothing here describes a capability as available when it is direction.
04
Built to be lived with
Preparation runs for months. The tools have to survive that: quiet, fast, readable, and free of the mechanics that make software tiring before the exam does.
04Who is building it
Built from a passion for business analysis,
and for helping analysts grow.

Lanalyste is a one-person project. It is built by Abdessamad Tirhzaoui, its founder, and informed by more than 10 years of experience in business analysis — a practitioner’s view of how analysts think, how they turn ambiguity into clarity, and how the right tools and methods help them make better decisions. The aim is the kind of preparation and professional environment a working analyst would genuinely value: shaped by curiosity, care for the craft, and respect for the people doing the work. Analysts are not an abstract audience here, but a professional community this project wants to contribute to.
05Independence and ownership
Independent by design. Accountable for what it creates.
Lanalyste independently creates and exclusively owns its original questions, case studies, explanations, analytical structures and learning content, subject to any identified third-party rights. The material is designed to support serious preparation; it is not copied from an official examination and may not be copied, republished, distributed, scraped, resold or used to build another product.
Lanalyste is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, accredited by or otherwise associated with IIBA® or any other certifying organization. It does not issue official certifications, determine eligibility or guarantee a passing result. Official certification and examination fees are separate from access to the Lanalyste simulator and learning content.
