Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Lanalyste covering use of this website and the exam simulator — what is provided, what is expected, and where responsibility sits.

Last updatedNovember 5, 2026

1Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Abdessamad Tirhzaoui, carrying on business as Lanalyste, a sole proprietorship registered in Québec, Canada (NEQ 2280937873). They apply when you use lanalyste.ca or the Lanalyste exam simulator. Using either means you accept them; if you do not accept them, do not use the service.

The Privacy Policy and the Payment Policy form part of these terms.

2Who may use the service

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. If you are using the service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.

3Accounts

Some parts of the service require an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the details you provide, for keeping your credentials secure, and for activity that takes place under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

An account is for one person. Sharing an account, or giving access to it to anyone else, is not permitted.

4What Lanalyste is — and is not

Lanalyste provides independent preparation material and practice tools for business analysis certification exams. What you buy is access to software — the exam simulator and the learning content in it. Lanalyste is not a training institution or an educational establishment, delivers no course of instruction, and awards no certificate, diploma or qualification of any kind.

That description says what the service is; it does not reduce your rights. Consumer-protection law applies to what it applies to, and calling the service software does not remove any right you have under it.

No affiliation

Lanalyste is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, accredited by, or otherwise associated with International Institute of Business Analysis™ (IIBA®), Project Management Institute, Inc., or any other certification body. ECBA™ is a trademark and CCBA®, CBAP®, IIBA® and BABOK® Guide are registered trademarks owned by International Institute of Business Analysis. PMI-PBA® is a registered mark of Project Management Institute, Inc. Those names are used here only to identify the exams and bodies of knowledge for which our independent material helps candidates prepare.

No guarantee of outcome

Preparing with Lanalyste does not guarantee a passing result, does not guarantee eligibility to sit any exam, and does not guarantee any particular score. Certification bodies set their own eligibility criteria, application processes, exam content and pass standards, and may change them at any time. It is your responsibility to check the requirements with the body that awards the certification.

Not the exam

Practice questions and case studies on Lanalyste are written independently. They are not actual exam questions, are not drawn from any exam, and no claim is made that they reproduce the content of any exam.

Not professional advice

Material on the service is educational. It is not legal, financial, or professional advice, and it should not be relied on as a substitute for the official materials published by a certification body.

5Acceptable use

You may use the service for your own preparation and professional development. You may not:

  • copy, republish, resell, distribute or make available any questions, case studies, explanations or other content from the service;
  • use automated means to extract content, including scraping, crawling or bulk downloading;
  • reverse engineer or attempt to derive the source of the service, or interfere with its operation or security;
  • share your account, or use the service on behalf of anyone who does not hold their own access;
  • use the service to build or train a competing product or dataset;
  • use the service unlawfully, or in a way that infringes anyone else's rights.

We may suspend or end access where these rules are broken.

Any unauthorized copying, publication, distribution, disclosure, resale, extraction or other misuse of Lanalyste learning content may result in account suspension and legal action, including claims for injunctive relief, damages and recovery of costs where permitted by law.

6Intellectual property

Lanalyste exclusively owns the original learning content it creates for the service, including its questions, case studies, explanations and text. The service, design, software and all such content belong to Lanalyste or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership to you.

You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to access and use the service for your own preparation, for as long as your access lasts.

Trademarks belonging to certification bodies remain the property of those bodies. See section 4.

7What you send us

If you send feedback, suggestions or messages, you allow us to use them to operate and improve the service without obligation or payment to you. Do not send us anything confidential, and do not send us anything you do not have the right to share.

8Availability and changes

The platform is under active development. Features may be added, changed or withdrawn, and the service may be unavailable during maintenance or because of events outside our control. We make no availability or uptime commitment, and none is offered to paying customers: access is sold as a period of availability of the simulator as it stands, not as a guaranteed level of service. Support is provided by email and no response time is promised.

We may change these terms. If a change is material, we will give notice before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the revised terms.

9Paid access

Where access is paid for, the Payment Policy governs price, taxes, payment, cancellation and refunds, and forms part of these terms.

Paid access is sold in Canadian dollars for one certification. CBAP® and CCBA® access is sold for 30, 90 or 180 days. ECBA™ access is sold for 14, 30 or 60 days, includes all four language/blueprint banks and their explanations, and never renews automatically. The following renewal, extension and separate French-explanation provisions concern CBAP and CCBA.

CCBA® offers 30/90/180-day access using the CBAP renewal and extension rules described in the Payment Policy. French explanation blocks are shared between CBAP and CCBA, while main simulator access remains certification-specific.

  • Buying the 30-day plan authorizes one automatic renewal for 30 more days at the amount disclosed at checkout, plus applicable taxes. No second authorization is required. Your account shows the scheduled date and amount. We send a reminder before renewal when possible. You can cancel in Account → Renewal before the charge without losing your current paid access. This is not an ongoing subscription.
  • The initial 90-day and 180-day plans never renew automatically.
  • Any access after that is an extension you expressly choose and pay for, in units of 30 days, in quantities of one, two, three or six, priced on the same structure as the initial plans. No extension renews.
  • French explanations are a separate product, sold in blocks of 10 consecutive days at C$9 a block and activated by you. Coverage runs continuously once activated, cannot be paused, never renews, requires active main access, never extends it, and is never part of the automatic main-access extension.

Paid access is offered for the CBAP®, CCBA® and ECBA™ simulators. PMI-PBA® is shown as coming soon. Payments are processed securely through Stripe.

10Ending access

You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. If the 30-day plan’s one-time automatic renewal is scheduled and it has not been charged, cancel it in your account to stop the charge. Stopping use alone does not cancel it. Closing an account also cancels a pending automatic extension that has not yet been charged. On every other plan and on every extension nothing renews, so there is no future charge to prevent.

Closing an account does not create a refund, and it does not, on its own, end access you have already paid for — we ask you to confirm before any paid access is ended, and we warn you first that unused, never-activated French-access blocks are lost on closure. Where a refund is required by applicable law and is issued, the access it paid for may be revoked or shortened to match. See the Payment Policy.

If we end your access for a material breach of these terms, the unused remainder of a period you have paid for is not refunded, except where mandatory applicable law requires otherwise — including consumer-protection law that we cannot contract out of. This mirrors the Refunds section of the Payment Policy; if the two ever differ, the more favourable to you applies.

French-explanation blocks you have bought but not activated may be forfeited when an account is terminated. We will not do that without first telling you clearly, in writing, that unactivated blocks will be lost and giving you the opportunity to respond. A forfeiture nobody was warned about is not a choice anyone made.

Sections that by their nature should survive — intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and governing law — continue to apply after access ends.

11Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we exclude all implied warranties, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. We work to keep material accurate and current, but we do not warrant that it is.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, and in those places this section applies only to the extent permitted.

12Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, for lost profits or opportunity, or for any loss arising from an exam result, an eligibility decision, or a career consequence.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you actually paid us in the twelve months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim. Where you paid us nothing in that period, that amount is nil.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. That includes liability for fraud, for intentional or gross fault, and for death or personal injury caused by negligence. It also includes the rights, warranties and remedies that consumer-protection law gives you — in Quebec, those under the Consumer Protection Act and the Civil Code of Québec — which apply in full whatever this section says, and which prevail over it to the extent of any conflict.

13Indemnity

This is deliberately narrow. You agree to indemnify us against third-party claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from (a) your unlawful use of the service, (b) intellectual-property infringement caused by material you upload or by your use of our content outside what these terms permit, or (c) a serious violation of the acceptable-use rules in these terms — such as sharing your access, extracting our question bank, or attacking the service.

It goes no further than those three. You are not asked to indemnify us for anything else, and nothing in this section applies to ordinary use of the service or overrides a protection that consumer-protection law gives you.

14Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of Quebec, Canada have jurisdiction, subject to any right you have to bring proceedings where you live. Nothing here removes a protection that consumer-protection law gives you.

15General

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours in connection with a sale or reorganisation of the business.

16Contact

Questions about these terms go to contact@lanalyste.ca. The contact form on this website reaches the same mailbox.
